Community

Our community engagement takes many different forms. We host meet-ups of like-minded, passionate people where we discuss plastic pollution issues, get hands-on with the machines, explore community sustainability goals and have project presentations. We create workshops that inspire schools to engage in plastic recycle activism and offer mentoring to those institutions creating their own in-house recycling programs. We attend and present at various grass roots events and festivals. We also offer in-studio machine time and guidance to artists who are exploring recycled plastic in their art.

I’m an active member in Precious Plastic Los Angels and I enjoy helping anyone who needs help troubleshooting a problem or just wants to see the machines in action.

Meet-ups

We host meet-ups of like-minded, passionate people where we discuss plastic pollution issues, get hands-on with the machines, explore community sustainability goals and have project presentations.

Workshops

We create educational workshops that support schools, individuals and businesses who want to learn more about plastic recycling methods and materials and offer mentoring to those institutions creating their own in-house recycling programs.

In-studio Education

We offer in-studio machine time and guidance to small groups and artists who are exploring the use of recycled plastic in their art.

Events/Festivals

We attend and present at various grass roots events and festivals. We use our art as a way to get peoples attention and start conversations. We bring our machines and get people hands-on as we demonstrate how to turn trash into positive change!

Activism

Being an activist can be a very rewarding form of self-care. Regardless of what makes you passionate, you can use this passion to do good and this can be extremely empowering. The definition of activism is: 'The action of using vigorous campaigning to bring about political or social change'. We work with individuals and groups supporting them as they navigate the challenges of being a waste plastic activist!

Speaking Engagements

I enjoy sharing my artistic approach and process in-person or virtually! I consider myself and my sculptures as ambassadors for environmental and social injustice. I ran my graphic design studio for 25 years before focusing on my personal art practice and I have a daily personal practice I like to share called “Living Well” that helps me stay grounded and excited to seize each day!
